How to setup custom robots header tag for blogger

Previously, we discussed how to remove subscribe to post comments (atom) from blogger. Today we are taking on how to setup custom robots header tags which is an important search engine optimization and a new search engine interface Google has added for blogspot and blogger users, which has a new crawler and indexing function. It defines how to impact your blog crawling and indexing in search engines like Google and Bing.

This new interface search engine tools has help Google recently raise up the SEO factor usually regarded wordpress above Google when considering which blogging platform the best of the two.

Blogger blog is now SEO friendly unlike before where your blog indexing and SERP (Search Engine Result Page) listing was at the mercy of search engine crawlers, or had to add meta tags to your blog template manually to ensure robot tags implementation, which wasn’t helping issues due to it difficulty separating robot tags from each pages and posts.

Addition of this new SEO interface (custom robots header tags) among other SEO preferences (such as Custom robots.txt, Custom redirect, Custom page not found) has boasted Google advantages and friendliness that was major lacking in it proficiency against other blogging platforms.

Considering this new blogger SEO interface, you can now set or edit your robot tags for blog home page, archive and search pages (labels, archive pages) and for default post and page (individual post and pages). These when done properly, would gives you a proper and total control of SEO over your blogger blog.

You have to be careful while setting it up because, if you go about it the wrong way, it would be difficult for Google to indexed your post and pages.
