Google analytics is a free version web analytics services offered by Google that tracks website traffic and gives out result. It is a real web analytic tool that gives you a way to explore what’s working and equally fix what’s not.

Google analytics with its popular slogan which says “Turn Insight Into Action” was launched in November 2015, and now the most widely used web analytics service on the internet today.

Now, that’s a little you need to know Google analytic, and before we proceed on how to get verify you website or blog with Google analytic, I’ll like to vividly state that submitting your website to Google analytic is different from submitting your website to Google Search Console (formally known as Google Webmaster Tool). 

While Google analytic track your website visitors and performance on site, Google Search Console is busy with your website search engines of crawling and indexing. 

Submitting your website to Google analytic

In order to completely setup and verified your website with Google analytics, you’ll either need your Analytics tracking ID or the entire Javascript tracking code snippet. Infact, the tracing ID or the Javascript code snippet is the analytic property of your submitted website.

To make this a success for Google analytics to start collecting your website data, you must copy and paste the Analytics tracking code or the javascript code into the source code on every web page you wish to track. In Blogger or Blogspot however, you don’t have to add the code or ID in every page. You simply need to add the Javascript code snippet in <head> section of your blog html template editor. section of your blogger Template

Find your tracking ID or Javascript code snippet

Follow the below guidelines to find your website tracking ID or the code snippet:

1.     Login to your Google Analytic account.  Sign up if you’re yet to register.

2.     Click on the Admin that’s on the top of the page. The Admin tab will bring a drop-down where you are to click on ‘create new account’. 

3.     Click on the ‘create new account’ so you could add your account name, website name and your website url, category, country and time zone. Also, make sure you tick all the data sharing setting as recommended.

4.     Thereafter, click on ‘Get Tracking ID for Google analytic "terms of service agreement" pop up window to appear. Accept the terms of service agreement so the tracking ID or the javascript code snippet can be generated.

5.     Once you’ve clicked on the ‘I Accept’, the next page would a page with the generated tacking ID and the Javascript so you could choose. I will advice you go for the javascript snippet code.

6.     Once you have the Javascript tracking code snippet for your property, copy the snippet exactly without editing it. Paste your javascript code snippet (unaltered, in its entirety) before the closing tag on every web page on your site you wish to track.

In Blogger or Blogspot however, you don’t have to add the code or ID in every page. You simply need to add the Javascript code snippet in <head> section of your blog html template editor.

7.   Once you have successfully installed Analytics tracking, it may take up to 24 hours for data such as traffic referral information, user characteristics, and browsing information to appear in your reports. However, you can check your web tracking code setup immediately.
